Disclaimer

In short: This site gives general information to help you think through buying DTF equipment. It is not financial, legal, tax, safety or professional advice. Our numbers are estimates and examples. Check everything with your own figures, the seller and qualified professionals before you spend money.
General information only
Everything on Print Systems Lab (“the site”), including articles, comparisons, checklists, the cost per transfer calculator and the homepage comparison, is general information. It is published by Print Systems Lab (“we”, “us”).
It is not tailored to your business, and it is not:
- financial or investment advice, including advice on whether to buy, lease or finance equipment;
- accounting or tax advice, including how equipment should be depreciated, expensed or claimed;
- legal advice, including advice on contracts, warranties, permits, zoning or employment;
- health and safety, electrical, ventilation or building advice;
- engineering or technical repair advice for any specific machine.
Before you make a purchase or business decision, speak to suitably qualified professionals: an accountant, a lawyer, an electrician, a ventilation or HVAC contractor, and the equipment manufacturer or seller.
Calculator and cost estimates
The calculator and the homepage comparison use a simplified model. Its results depend entirely on the numbers entered, and the starting values are illustrations, not market averages or quotes. In particular:
- The model leaves out costs that can be significant, including lost sales during downtime, financing interest, taxes, insurance, rent, floor space, utilities beyond those you enter, garments and shipping to your customers.
- It assumes costs stay constant from month to month. In practice, prices, volumes, waste and repair costs change.
- A “break-even” or “saving” figure is a calculation, not a forecast or promise of profit.
Price ranges for equipment, consumables, parts and setup types are typical ranges based on published information we could find at the time of writing. They are not quotes, may be out of date, and vary by seller, region, configuration and date. Always get a written quote.
Equipment and setup comparisons
Comparisons on this site describe general types of DTF setup, not specific brands or models, unless a page clearly says otherwise. Ratings such as “good”, “acceptable” and “weak”, and labels such as “usually the best fit”, are our editorial opinion based on general characteristics. They are not test results, certifications or guarantees about any product.
Specifications, support arrangements, parts availability, warranties and prices are set by manufacturers and sellers and can change without notice. Confirm them in writing with the seller before you buy.
Health and safety
DTF printing involves inks, adhesive powders, heat and electrical equipment. Heating some adhesive powders can release vapors that may harm your lungs. Where we mention safety, it is to point you towards questions to ask, not to tell you what is safe.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the safety data sheets for every ink and powder you use. Follow the workplace safety, building, fire and electrical rules that apply where you work. In the United States these may include OSHA requirements and state and local codes. Use qualified installers for ventilation and electrical work. We are not safety professionals and accept no responsibility for how equipment is installed, used or maintained.
No guarantee of accuracy
We work to keep the site accurate and up to date, and we correct mistakes when we find them. But we make no promise that any content is complete, current, accurate or suitable for your purpose, and you rely on it at your own risk. If you spot an error, please tell us at hello@printsystemslab.com.
Third-party products, sites and sellers
We link to other websites, sellers and suppliers. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, products, services, prices, delivery, support, warranties or privacy practices. Any purchase you make is a contract between you and that seller, not us. A link is not an endorsement of everything a seller does.
Affiliate links
Some links may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy. See our affiliate disclosure for how this works and how it does and doesn’t affect what we publish.
Opinions
Views expressed on the site are our honest opinion at the time of writing. They are not statements of fact about any company or product.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. That includes lost profits, lost revenue, lost business or data, equipment damage, business interruption, and indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in this disclaimer limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nor does it affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Our terms of use set out these limits in full.
